Eressea was an unexpected addition to our herd in
the spring of 2018, but boy are we glad she came
here! When we needed a companion for Eudril as she
became acclimated to the farm, Lauren offered us
this eared beauty and we jumped at the chance to get
her. This girl's pedigree is quite literally packed
with SGCH and high appraising animals. There is not
a single doe in Eressea's pedigree that appraised
lower than a 19, and all save one have finished
their championships, many of which are SGCH.
Eressea herself excels in all areas of the
scorecard, but most especially in general appearance
and dairy strength. In general appearance, she is
long, tall, and extremely level over the topline;
especially while on the move, and has a great set of
legs and good feet. In dairy strength, she has a
long, lean neck which blends smoothly into sharp
withers, she is very open in the ribs with a nice
wedge shape, and has that lovely dairy skin that I
love so much. her escutcheon is high and wide with
great teat placement, and she already has a very
correct precocious udder that gives me every reason
to believe that she will freshen with a lovely
udder. If I had to fault her, I would like to see
her with a bit better breed character about the head
and tighter rear feet. All in all, Eressea is one of
our most promising does. Having won her dry leg with
a BIS at her first show out, Eressea will sit out
the rest of the shows until she freshens.
Eressea freshened as a yearling with a huge,
productive mammary. It is extremely high up into her
escutcheon and very wide, and her fore udder is long
and smooth. Unfortunately, Eressea is uneven, so she
may have to sit out the fall show season. It is,
however, getting better with time so she may make it
out to some of the later shows. Regardless, I am
very excited about this girl and look forward to
seeing her with another freshening under her belt!
Eressea's dam, SGCH Tempo Passa Elentera 11*M
LA 92 (EEEE), is a simply gorgeous doe in the Tempo
Passa herd. She finished her championship as a 2
year old FF, appraised at an 89 (VEEV) and milked
over 3,500 pounds the same year. As a second
freshener in 2018, she appraised 92 (EEEE) and
milked over 4000 pounds. The fact that she was named Reserve
National Champion in Ohio in 2018, and once again
Reserve National Champion in Redmond in 2019 was just icing on the
cake! Eressea's sire, Tempo Passa FRL Harley, is the
son of SGCH des-Ruhigestelle Elende 9*M LA 92 (EEEE),
one of the most influential does in the Tempo line.
She was the 2013 ADGA National Total Performer, and,
from four different sires, has 4 SGCH daughters, a
GCH daughter, and an SG son.
As a 2 year old 2nd
freshener, Eressea is still putting it in the pail.
Peaking at 17# and continuing to milk 16# well into
her lactation, she loves nothing more than working
hard. She made the ELITE list twice, ranking in the
97th percentile. While she only gave me a single
buck kid this year, he turned out so beautifully
that I chose to repeat the cross in the hopes of a
doe kid. I am very curious to see what more this doe
can do with another freshening.
