Star, rightly
named, is one of the best kids from the 2015 kid
crop. Like all of the Constantine kids, she is a
long, tall girl, excelling in general appearance.
She has a superb front end, standing on extremely
correct legs and good feet. She has great smoothness
of blending, and excellent length and levelness over
the topline and rump. When this girl enters the show
ring, she knows how to walk with style! We feel she
could have a little more width between the hocks
carried into the escutcheon, but otherwise we find
it difficult to fault her.
Star was perhaps our most anticipated first
freshener this year, and she definitely lived up to
our expectations! Her mammary system is a vast
improvement over her dam's; although teats and a
stronger medial is still a work in progress. It is
higher, wider, better attached, and, most
importantly, the placement of her udder was
correctly shifted. She also is a vast improvement in
milk production. Thus far, she is the highest
producing first freshener right behind Tatiana. Star
has also continued to deepen and mature, being our
most put togetherfirst freshener right now. We are
excited to take her out to some shows later this
year! While Star was unable to make it out
to any shows last year, she has matured into one of
our most arrestingly beautiful does. Long, level,
deep, and powerfu l, with still my favorite front
end of the entire herd, she continues to hold a
special place on the farm. Her udder has developed
tremendously in its capacity and production. She
will likely give Merry a run for that udder title in
a year or two! Not only is she great to look at, but
she is a pleasure to handle as well. Star has
retained the sweet, gentle disposition of both of
her parents, and still remains, even as a milker, my
daughter's special showmanship doe, winning her
first place in every class that they have competed
in together. Yes, this doe is special! We plan on
retaining all of her 2019 kids. |
