Dandelion, or 'Danny'as we
call him, was somewhat of a last minute addition to
our buck lineup. I had seen a video of his dam on
social media, and fell in love with her. After
finding out our good friends at Raintree-Calico had bought
her bred and she was carrying kids sired by the
maternal half brother to *B Raintree EZ Mudslide who
we used here with fantastic success, I emailed Deb
Macke and asked about putting in a buck reservation.
It all worked out, and I could not be more pleased!
Danny himself is an incredibly dairy buck with a
beautiful wide, flat rump and correct feet and legs.
He has excellent width and strength of bone
throughout, and, while a little slower growing than
our other junior bucks, he is starting to catch up
quickly. I am hopeful that he will pass on his
lovely dairy skin as well as improve rumps, toplines,
teat placement, and strengthen udder attachment both
fore and rear.
Danny's pedigree is packed with fabulous, proven
animals. Danny's dam is the beautiful redhead
Celtic-Knot CKPG Phlox. Phlox has never hit the show
ring nor been appraised, but when I saw a video of
her on the move on social media I thought she was
simply stunning. Beautiful front end, strong and
correct feet and legs as a 5 year old, uphill and
very level across her topline while on the move, and
a really lovely udder with extremely correct teat
placement - I knew I wanted a son! Phlox's dam, CH
Celtic-Knot TCC Sasperilla EX 90 EEEE, was a big,
powerful dairy doe with exactly the kind of style
and strength I like to see. Danny's sire is *B
Raintree Sin's Kai, a buck with an incredible
pedigree. Kai's dam, GCH Mint*Leaf Kaity 1*M LA 91
VEEE, had multiple top ten records to her name and
was also the dam to our own *B Raintree EZ Mudslide.
Kai's sire, Mint*Leaf Decadent Sins LA 91 EEE, has
had two daughters on the ELITE list and several more
place in the top 10 at National shows. These are
genetics that are both old and new to us, and I
could not be more excited to work with them through
Danny! |
