Patience, true to her name,
is helping us to practice our patience. We always
have one slow-maturing kid in the pen, and this kid
crop she is it. However, do not mistake
slow-maturing for less correct than the others! She
excels in dairyness, being sharp over those withers,
open in the ribbing, deep in the barrel, and wide
and open in the escutcheon. She has all the parts
there, she just needs time to put them together! I
look forward to watching her grow and mature into
the lovely animal that I know she is.
As expected, we have had
to be patient with this one. However, she is really
finally starting to pull things together and look
fantastic! Another year or two, and she will be a
stunner. I cannot wait to see an udder on this one!
Patience freshened in 2021
and has been slower to come into herself than some
of our other does in the same age group, and thus
has not seen the show ring much. However, she is
really starting to blossom now later in the year and
hold her own. At our fall shows, she managed a 6th
place out of over 15 2 year olds, and a 3rd place
(behind two of her herdmates) out of a class of 10
at another show. Regardless, her udder is so very
well attached, not unlike her paternal sister
Willow's, and her retained 2021 daughter was 11th at
Nationals. I firmly believe all she needs is time! |
